As a family practice physician, Anastasia Karamanides, M.D. loves caring for patients at every stage of their lives. In her own words: “I have had the privilege of taking care of tens of thousands of patients in the 30 years I have been in medicine. When I am in the room with a patient and their family and friends, the rest of the world drops away. Regardless of what is going on in the office, at home or in the world, only my patient and their needs are what is important at that moment. Knowing that I have made a difference in so many lives is powerful and gratifying.”
Believing that being happy and grateful is just as important as cholesterol level and blood pressure, Dr. Karamanides knows medicine is first and foremost about people. That’s why she focuses on building trust and personal connections that help empower her patients to take control of their health.
When Dr. Karamanides is not inspiring and treating patients, she spends time with family and friends and loves curling up with a good book. Self-described as compassionate to a fault, fun and adventurous, she’s passionate about travel. And, if you’re fortunate enough to go on a road trip with Dr. Karamanides, you’ll never know where you are going to end up or where you are staying the night.
Being a doctor is the only career she has ever wanted. A daughter of immigrants, she often pitched in at the restaurant they owned, making floats and milkshakes, but realized early on that education was the path to her future. Her love of people and science led her to medicine.
Dr. Karamanides specializes and is board certified in family practice medicine. Before joining P3, she was associate medical director with Southwest Medical Associates. Throughout her career, she has practiced as a family physician with medical groups in New Mexico and Pennsylvania.
