With 26 years in the medical field,16 years of which she focused on internal medicine and family practice arenas, Family Nurse Practitioner Heidi Baker, APRN-BC, draws on a wealth of experience when caring for her patients.
Heidi specializes in managing health disorders, including diabetes and hypertension, work-related injuries and in-office surgical procedures. She has worked in the Las Vegas Valley for most of her career with a special interest in advocating for the rights of local nurses. Heidi has worked on legal medical cases and is a noted speaker on both osteoporosis and diabetes medication.
While English is her first language, she’s nearly fluent in speaking, writing and reading Spanish. Outside of work, she enjoys being a mom and all of the taxi driving, cooking, and housekeeping that goes with it. She does love to cook and is also a fan of her dogs, hiking, exploring, country music, drama movies and cruising in her 75th Anniversary Edition Jeep.
Heidi graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City with a Master of Science in Nursing. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. She is an active member of the National Advanced Practice Nurses Association and holds licenses with the Drug Enforcement Agency, Nevada Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, RN and Pharmacy. Heidi is also an instructor at multiple universities and has prepared more than 15 students for their nursing careers.
