Karisa first became interested in a career in healthcare when she was 12 years old and hospitalized for three weeks with a ruptured appendix. Years later, she would remember that experience when she was a medical mission volunteer with Palmas de Mamre Missionary Training School in Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica. Five years later, she earned her nursing degree from Boston’s MGH Institute of Health Professions, followed by a Master in Nursing with a specialty in Adult Gerontology.
Prior to joining P3 Health Partners, Karisa was a nurse practitioner with CareNow Urgent Care and ProCare Medical Center in Las Vegas. As a registered nurse, Karisa worked with Belmont Home Care and Specialized Housing Inc. in Massachusetts.
