It could be said that Dr. Michael Saiyasombat has been in healthcare his entire life. Raised by parents who worked in the medical field, Dr. Saiyasombat still has fond memories of hanging out in the nurses’ break room waiting for his mom’s shift to end.
As a P3 Medical Group primary care physician, Dr. Saiyasombat loves helping patients make the best choices for their health by guiding them through their medical and wellness concerns with relevant education and compassion. He excels at explaining complicated medical issues in terms his patients can understand and is happy when he sees his patients engage in their wellness journeys. Dr. Saiyasombat often is heard saying, “Big changes start with little ones” citing such examples as: ask yourself before you go for seconds – are you really that hungry, or are you just satisfying your taste buds?
When Dr. Saiyasombat isn’t treating patients he’s busy being an avid hockey fan and player. He’s proud to have played goalie, posting four straight shutouts on his recreational league team when they won the championship.
An internist, Dr. Saiyasombat joins P3 Medical Group from HealthCare Partners in Mesquite, NV working with geriatric patients and previously with Southwest Medical Associates’ Department of Adult Medicine.
As a member of the United States Army Medical Corp., Dr. Saiyasombat served as chief of internal medicine stationed at Fort Irwin, California in the Mojave Desert. During this time, he was the founding physician for the Traumatic Brain Injury and Coumadin clinics; served as an integrated disability evaluation system physician; diabetes champion and clinical trainer of Special Operations Medics and provided inpatient and outpatient medical care for active duty soldiers, retirees and adult dependents.
The military has recognized his service with numerous awards. He is the recipient of the Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Army Service Ribbon.
Dr. Saiyasombat received his medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine and a Master of Science in Microbiology from the University of California Riverside. He completed his internal medicine residency with the Kettering Medical Center and a residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Loma Linda University Medical Center.
