Dr. Prashanth R. Rao serves as Regional Vice President of Medical Affairs for Nebraska at P3 Health Partners. He brings 20 years of clinical experience and a collaborative approach to developing clinician-centered, value-based care programs for Medicare Advantage populations. His background spans hospital medicine, critical care, outpatient telemedicine, post-acute care and value-based primary care, including roles as a nocturnist and hospitalist senior partner.
Dr. Rao focuses on developing practical workflows that support clinicians, reduce administrative burden and strengthen care delivery. As a medical director with Conviva Physician Group, a Humana company in Texas, he led initiatives to streamline specialty access, advance CMS-aligned coding education and strengthen high-risk patient management. He also developed workflows that improved Quality Stars performance.
An advocate for transparent communication, Dr. Rao supports active clinician engagement through local town halls and other forums, ensuring providers have a consistent voice in operational decisions.
Dr. Rao earned his medical degree from the University of Mysore in India and completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Dr. Rao is a husband and father of two. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, trail biking and scuba diving.
